With all the free resources out there to learn coding, it was overwhelming. One of the main reasons I decided to go to Flatiron School was because I needed structure. The application process went smoothly and I was excited to begin my coding journey. I applied to Flatiron School and got in! Right from the beginning, Flatiron School's staff was very friendly and helpful.
Once the pandemic hit, I decided it was the perfect time to take the leap and pursue what I knew would be the career I could see myself in moving forward. The thought of going to a coding bootcamp kept popping up, but I just brushed it off. The overwhelming thought of putting myself in so much more debt and many more years of school made me decide to look elsewhere. After 4+ years as a Physical Therapist Assistant, I decided I wanted to change my career path and thought about pursuing my doctorate in Physical Therapy or becoming a Physician's Assistant.

I have always had an interest in software engineering growing up, but I ended up in another career field because I felt that I didn't know much about the tech industry. It is a challenge, yes, but a very enjoyable one! Plus, you get to meet new people from very different backgrounds and make yourself some new friends :). It will definitely do not just appear in front of you, so I would just recommend you to be prepared, because when you see the opportunity appear, you ‘ll know you’ll be ready to take it. After a couple of months of job seeking I found the job I wanted. It definitely takes time and effort to understand oneself and build what’s needed for the job research, and after very intense 9 weeks you might feel like your motivation disappeared, but if you have the courage to keep things moving, things start appearing. I was a little afraid that I might not be able to merge both paths, but it is incredible how it all fell into place after the bootcamp ended.
These focus first on you as a person and then on your career, which I think is very important because behind every job title there’s a human. The bootcamp was awesome, with great teachers and interesting projects and classmates! But it is the career guidelines that really helped me build my new profile. Ironhack was a great experience that helped me a lot to better understand how I could use my background and apply it into the design field. I already knew many of the tools/frameworks we used in the bootcamp, but I used to apply them in a business context. I had been working for 3+ years in the management of digital projects, and I wanted to start working creating experiences. I come from a business background focused on startups and creative industries. Get ready, because the story is long! Just kidding, but I hope that what I have to share will help you somehow ) When I started the Bootcamp I was not a designer! And really, you don’t need to. In the Cyber Security course, students will develop the most in-demand knowledge to be part of any company's cybersecurity workforce and become a cybersecurity professional. The Cyber Security course provides students with the hands-on skills they need to land a job in the growing cybersecurity industry. The Data Analytics program allows students to load, clean, explore and extract valuable insights from datasets and cultivate languages, such as Python, SQL and Tableau. Data Analytics covers data wrangling/cleaning, APIs, web scraping, and intermediate topics in Git, MySQL, Python, Data visualization, Panda, and Machine Learning. The UX/UI program covers Design Thinking, Photoshop, Sketch, Balsamiq, InVision, and JavaScript. Students who graduate from the Web Development Bootcamp will be skilled in technologies like JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
